In recent decades, the West Nile virus has seen increasing spread across most parts of the world, accompanied by a rise in human infection cases. Currently, there are no approved pharmacological therapies for its treatment, making it increasingly urgent and important to find something that can serve as a tool to counter its spread. This paper examines therapeutic approaches based on the use of classic techniques already approved and standardized for the treatment of other viruses, which have also shown promising antiviral activity against West Nile virus. Some of these techniques include the use of entry inhibitors, polymerase inhibitors, protease inhibitors, and analog nucleosides. Furthermore, studies are considered that describe new approaches for finding alternative targets for the development of drugs that could represent a starting point for the future development of effective treatments against the West Nile virus.

Abstract
Furthermore, studies are considered that describe new approaches for finding alternative targets for the development of drugs that could represent a starting point for the future development of effective treatments against the West Nile virus.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
