Osteoporosis is a systemic skeletal condition characterized by low bone mass and microstructural changes in bone, which compromise bone strength and increase the risk of spontaneous fractures. It is a widespread condition worldwide and predominantly affects women from the menopausal period due to the decline in estrogen. In osteoporosis, the process of bone resorption overrides the process of bone deposition, causing bone deterioration and erosion with reduction in total mass. The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the scientific literature regarding the importance of exercise as a tool to prevent and treat osteoporosis in order to increase bone mineral density. The key words I used in my research were "osteoporosis," "osteoporosis and women," " osteoporosis and menopause," "osteoporosis and physical exercise," and "osteoporosis and resistance training."
Le parole chiave che ho utilizzato nella mia ricerca sono state: “osteoporosis”, “osteoporosis and women”, “ osteoporosis and menopause”, “osteoporosis and physical exercise”, “osteoporosis and resistance training”.

Abstract
Osteoporosis is a systemic skeletal condition characterized by low bone mass and microstructural changes in bone, which compromise bone strength and increase the risk of spontaneous fractures.
