Villa Contarini a Piazzola sul Brenta : analisi di soluzioni tecniche per il consolidamento delle statue e degli elementi lapidei

The thesis develops an analysis on the Villa Contarini complex, located in Piazzola sul Brenta, in the province of Padua. In particular, the research attention was focused on the statuary elements that adorn the parapet on the terrace of the east wing of the villa. The main objective of this study was therefore to conduct a detailed research on the problems of consolidation of the protected statues. There was first a bibliographical analysis on the history of the villa's construction, then there was an analysis on the problems associated with the recovery, restoration and consolidation of the statuary elements with the aim of evaluating possible solutions and solving these problems. In the context of this thesis analysis, we aim to analyze proposed solutions for the recovery of the artefacts, favoring approaches that minimize the invasiveness of the operations. A crucial aspect was the need to prevent the overturning of the statues in the event of a telluric event, therefore, a significant part of the investigation focused on strategies and calculation solutions aimed at ensuring the stability of these works of art. The ultimate goal of the thesis was to identify at least one adequate solution compatible with the constraints imposed by the object in question. However, the possibility of future developments and technological progress will be constantly kept in mind, which could pave the way for the adoption of more innovative materials than those currently available. This thesis aims to analyze a problem and tries to evaluate the possible solutions that can be implemented, aiming not only to preserve the artistic heritage, but also to ensure its durability over time, taking into account the potential evolutions in the field of restoration and conservation.

La tesi sviluppa un’analisi sul complesso di Villa Contarini, situata a Piazzola sul Brenta, nella provincia di Padova. In particolare, l’attenzione di ricerca si è rivolta agli elementi statuari che adornano il parapetto sulla terrazza dell’ala est della villa. L’obiettivo principale di questo studio è stato quindi di condurre una ricerca dettagliata sulle problematiche del consolidamento delle statue vincolate. Vi è stata in primis un’analisi bibliografica sulla storia del costruito della villa, successivamente vi è stata un’analisi sulle problematiche associate al recupero, restauro e consolidamento degli elementi statuari con l’obbiettivo di valutare possibili soluzioni e risolvere tali problemi. Nel contesto di questa analisi di tesi, ci si prefigge di analizzare delle proposte di soluzione per il recupero dei manufatti, privilegiando approcci che minimizzino l’invadenza delle operazioni. Un aspetto cruciale è stato la necessità di prevenire il ribaltamento delle statue in caso di evento tellurico, quindi, una parte significativa dell’indagine si è concentrata su strategie e soluzioni di calcolo atte a garantire la stabilità di tali opere d’arte. La finalità ultima della tesi è stata di individuare almeno una soluzione adeguata e compatibile con i vincoli imposti dall’oggetto in questione. Tuttavia, si terrà costantemente presente la possibilità di futuri sviluppi e progressi tecnologici, che potrebbero aprire la strada all’adozione di materiali più innovativi rispetto a quelli attualmente disponibili. Questa tesi vuole analizzare una problematica e cerca di valutare le possibili soluzioni attuabili, mirando non solo a preservare il patrimonio artistico, ma anche a garantire la sua durabilità nel tempo, tenendo conto delle potenziali evoluzioni nel campo del restauro e della conservazione.
