La presente tesi propone un approfondito confronto tra due tecniche di compressione d'immagine, JPEG2000 e iWave, al fine di valutarne le prestazioni, i vantaggi e le limitazioni. La ricerca si articola su un'analisi bibliografica dettagliata delle due metodologie, esplorando le loro basi teoriche, applicazioni e risultati di ricerche precedenti.
