The doctor-patient relationship has undergone significant changes over time, changes necessary to adapt to the evolving knowledge and techniques in the medical field, as well as in society itself. To address the patient that doctors will encounter in the future, it is essential to remember the nature of Homo sapiens, its primate origins, and its neotenic traits. Indeed, the “patient of the future”, with its innovative tools and increased knowledge, is not an entirely new being without a past. The future of the doctor-patient relationship will be profoundly influenced by new technologies, such as artificial intelligence and telemedicine. These tools promise to enhance the quality of healthcare. However, despite these advances, maintaining an empathetic and trust-based relationship between doctor and patient remains crucial. The challenge will be to integrate new technologies without losing the human connection, which is fundamental to therapeutic success. Doctors will need to adapt to new modes of communication, developing both technical and relational skills to meet the needs of the patient of the future. This thesis aims to analyse the doctor-patient relationship with the patient of the future: a patient who is increasingly technological, autonomous, and intent on seeking information. Additionally, it will present optimal communication methods, drawing from current knowledge in the field of ethology.

Abstract
Additionally, it will present optimal communication methods, drawing from current knowledge in the field of ethology.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
