The thesis focuses on Carbon Pricing and its effects on international trade, with a particular focus on how the competitiveness of companies responds to the introduction and implementation of a Carbon Pricing system. The thesis also discusses the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), a mechanism introduced by the European Union to counteract carbon leakage and more generally the entry of non-EU products characterised by a high environmental impact and low prices resulting from the absence of carbon pricing in the country of production.
