The work includes the study and characterization of European industrial ecosystems, with focus on Textile and Agrifood, with the aim of obtaining a decision-making tool, in form of heatmaps, that quantifies the level of resilience of the ecosystems to assist strategic decision making. The ecosystems are studied starting from a general definition, then providing a macroeconomic analysis of the main subsectors and the most relevant European countries in the industry, and finally identifying the main critical factors and challenges that the sector faces. Heatmaps contribute to the literature on resilience, identifying it as a parameter to be considered for strategic decisions.
