This work examines the concept of social alienation through a historical analysis and an investigation into its contemporary interpretations. Starting from the philosophical roots of the term, traced in the thoughts of Rousseau, Hegel, and Marx, the thesis explores how alienation has been conceptualized in various historical and theoretical contexts. It analyzes the evolutions of the concept in response to social, economic, and technological changes, highlighting its different manifestations in modern society. By comparing classical and contemporary perspectives, the work aims to offer a deep understanding of the phenomenon of alienation, emphasizing its implications for the individual and the community in the current era. The study concludes with a reflection on possible ways to revitalize the concept, making it once again a useful tool in the academic community's toolkit.
