Antonio Vivaldi was a well-known Italian composer and violinist. His first education took place thanks to his father, an excellent violinist. Vivaldi was born in Venice, a city that was increasingly progressing from a musical point of view. New places arose in which to make music such as theaters, academies and hospitals, we remember in particular the hospital of piety where our composer worked. From the end of the 17th century onwards, in Venice, there began to be increasingly concrete exotic references in the plots, costumes, staging of ballets and operas and in the sung words of the operas. The objective of the thesis is to research and examine the various exotic elements present in Antonio Vivaldi’s works. The research focuses on clarifying the meaning of "exotic" as a starting point, seeing how the exotic was represented in the compositions and taking some Vivaldian works as examples for a better explanation of the exotic in Vivaldi's production. Montezuma is the work that will have the greatest focus in this essay, as it has various exotic elements that are very interesting to explore.

Abstract
Montezuma is the work that will have the greatest focus in this essay, as it has various exotic elements that are very interesting to explore.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
