The thesis focuses on the exhibition "Jean Cocteau: The Juggler's Revenge" at the Peggy Guggenheim Gallery. Initially, it presents the artist, his working method, and his biography, exploring the key moments of his career and his contribution to the art world. Subsequently, the exhibition is introduced, describing its context, curatorial objectives, and the realization process. Then, the exhibition is analyzed in terms of its content and setup, highlighting the exhibited works, the exhibition layout, and the scenographic choices. The thesis concludes with a comparison between previous exhibitions dedicated to the same artist, analyzing the differences and similarities, and with an in-depth discussion of the catalog, evaluating its effectiveness and importance for understanding Jean Cocteau's work.
La tesi verte sulla mostra "Jean Cocteau: La rivincita del giocoliere" presso la Galleria Peggy Guggenheim. Inizialmente, viene presentato l'artista, il suo metodo di lavoro e la sua biografia, esplorando i momenti chiave della sua carriera e il suo contributo al mondo dell'arte. Successivamente, si introduce la mostra, descrivendone il contesto, gli obiettivi curatoriali e il processo di realizzazione. Dopodiché, la mostra viene analizzata nei suoi contenuti e nel suo allestimento, evidenziando le opere esposte, il percorso espositivo e le scelte scenografiche. La tesi si conclude con un confronto tra le mostre precedenti dedicate allo stesso artista, analizzando le differenze e le somiglianze, e con una discussione approfondita del catalogo, valutandone l'efficacia e l'importanza per la comprensione dell'opera di Jean Cocteau.
