The paper addresses the topic of speech and music, specifically analyzing the different aspects of processing and description in both fields. The goal of this thesis is to provide an overview of the two main topics and how the melodic and harmonic component influences speech. The research of sources was conducted by consulting several databases, such as Researchgate, PubMed and Galileodiscovery, as well as site sources, in order to collect and compare the numerous information and studies. The first section includes a small summary of what the study of linguistics entails, reporting what are the definitions and topics studied during the bachelor’s degree. Next, an introduction to neurolinguistics, which studies the neural mechanisms in the human brain responsible for language comprehension, production and acquisition, is provided. In the main section, however, the areas of understanding and production in common between music and language are briefly described, highlighting the communicative analogy relationship that exists. In addition, the component of acoustic physics in the structure of sentences is emphasized, with marginal exposure to syntax and prosody. At the end the paper focuses on the influence of music in language diseases.

Abstract
At the end the paper focuses on the influence of music in language diseases.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
