Come gestire la conflittualità legata ai valori sacri in un’ottica di pace internazionale: il pensiero di Galtung

Considering the dichotomous character of sacred values, which are at the same time both a source of conflicts due to the intrinsic dynamics that characterize them and tools that can be used in the process of peace building, the thesis seeks to analyze the ways of managing sacred conflict through the use of Galtung's studies. The text is divided into three chapters: the first sets out the definitions of the concepts of peace, value and sacred and highlights both the discrepancies and the areas of intersection through the use of a paradigm theorized by Galtung identifiable as the "triad positions-interests-needs"; the second chapter focuses on the methods of political and social management of the sacred, delving into the main trends of the system of international relations and the various models of ethnic integration; finally, the third chapter presents two case studies chosen because they both show the potential and effectiveness of the use of nonviolence, creativity and empathic dialogue in highly conflictual contexts.

Considerando il carattere dicotomico dei valori sacri, che sono al contempo sia fonte di conflitti a causa delle dinamiche intrinseche che li caratterizzano sia strumenti utilizzabili nel processo di peace building, la tesi cerca di analizzare le modalità di gestione del conflitto sacro attraverso l'utilizzo degli studi di Galtung. Il testo è suddiviso in tre capitoli: il primo espone le definizioni dei concetti di pace, di valore e di sacro e ne mette in luce sia le discrepanze che le aree di intersezione attraverso l’utilizzo di uno paradigmi teorizzati da Galtung identificabile come “triade posizioni-interessi-esigenze”; il secondo capitolo si focalizza sui metodi di gestione politica e sociale del sacro approfondendo le principali tendenze del sistema delle relazioni internazionali e i vari modelli di integrazione etnica; il terzo capitolo presenta, infine, due casi studio scelti in quanto entrambi mostrano le potenzialità e l’efficacia dell'utilizzo della nonviolenza, della creatività e del dialogo empatico in contesti fortemente conflittuali.
