This thesis explores the impact of bilingualism in early childhood, focusing on the cognitive, social aspects and educational practices that favor it. Through a review of the literature, the effects of bilingualism are analyzed, including the positive and negative aspects on children's cognitive development, mental flexibility, problem-solving ability and memory. Furthermore, the negative and positive aspects of sociality, such as communication skills and cultural identity, that emerge in bilingual contexts are examined. The thesis also investigates the most effective educational strategies to support bilingualism, identifying the challenges and best practices adopted in different educational contexts.
La presente tesi esplora l'impatto del bilinguismo nella prima infanzia, concentrandosi sugli aspetti cognitivi, sociali e sulle pratiche educative che lo favoriscono. Attraverso una revisione della letteratura, vengono analizzati gli effetti del bilinguismo, inclusi gli aspetti positivi e negativi sullo sviluppo cognitivo dei bambini, sulla flessibilità mentale, nella capacità di risoluzione dei problemi e nella memoria. Inoltre, vengono esaminati gli aspetti negativi e positivi nell'ambito della socialità, come le competenze comunicative e l'identità culturale, che emergono in contesti bilingui. La tesi indaga anche le strategie educative più efficaci per supportare il bilinguismo, identificando le sfide e le pratiche migliori adottate nei diversi contesti educativi.
