The Boeing and 737 MAX crisis, marked by two tragic incidents in 2018 and 2019 and the consequent global grounding, represents an emblematic case of how a defective product can compromise the stability and reputation of a company. This thesis analyzes the causes of the crisis, evaluating its impact and drawing useful strategies for the future. Through a multidisciplinary approach that combines the analysis of academic literature, internal company documents, direct testimonies and journalistic sources, the complex chain of events that led to the design, certification and marketing of an aircraft with serious safety problems is reconstructed. In particular, the competitive pressures that have pushed Boeing to accelerate development times while minimizing costs, and the internal dynamics characterized by a corporate culture that has privileged profit over transparency and social responsibility are examined. The thesis evaluates the impact of the 737 MAX crisis on multiple levels: economic, with billion-year losses for Boeing, airlines and the entire supply chain; reputational, with serious damage to the image and confidence of the Boeing brand; legal, with lawsuits and investigations directed at Boeing and its executives; and social, with the loss of hundreds of lives and the pain of the families of the victims. The strategies implemented by Boeing to manage the crisis are then analyzed, evaluating its effectiveness and consequently the criticalities. Finally, the thesis draws conclusions on the lessons learned from this case, highlighting the importance of a corporate culture based on security, ethics and social responsibility, transparent and participatory decision-making processes, effective risk management and open and honest communication with all stakeholders.

Abstract
Finally, the thesis draws conclusions on the lessons learned from this case, highlighting the importance of a corporate culture based on security, ethics and social responsibility, transparent and participatory decision-making processes, effective risk management and open and honest communication with all stakeholders.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
