Abstract
Taiwan is one of the most politically glowing fault zones on our planet. Claimed by the People’s Republic of China (PRC) as a rebel province; protected by the United States because strategically indispensable, and functional to the containment of Beijing on the mainland. This thesis, against the background of the most significant global events, aims to analyze the changes in relations between Washington and Taipei from the end of the Chinese civil war to the present day, with a detailed focus on the Nixon administration’s reversal of foreign policy towards China and, by extension, Taiwan.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
