The following dissertation aims to investigate whether it is possible to promote new approaches to reading in primary school through the use of digital technologies, especially through the booktrailer, which is a short video aimed at promoting the reading of a book through images, sounds and words. Therefore, the relationship between storytelling and digital tools will be illustrated in order to foster the process of child engagement. The research project was carried out in a fifth-grade primary class and mainly involved the disciplines of art and imagery and Italian within an educational design aimed at fostering awareness of the booktrailer and different ways of approaching reading. The educational path was guided by a specific research hypothesis, which sought to investigate whether the use of digital storytelling, particularly the tool of the booktrailer, can foster motivation to read. Through multiple techniques and teaching formats such as in-depth lessons, storytelling, and workshops, pupils were led to discover this particular multimedia product until the creation of a classroom booktrailer. The data collected during the experimentation phase testify to an increase in knowledge related to the booktrailer and an increase in students' propensity to read as a result of the learning journey. Therefore, a positive correlation can be identified between reading motivation and the booktrailer, which proves to be itself as an effective educational tool for promoting the enjoyment of reading.

Abstract
Therefore, a positive correlation can be identified between reading motivation and the booktrailer, which proves to be itself as an effective educational tool for promoting the enjoyment of reading.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
