The paper presents an experimental investigation focused on the implementation of an in-depth history teaching workshop. The study focuses on the board game practiced in Ancient Rome, known as “Duodecim scripta”. This game, characterized by its simplicity, fosters the development of pupils' logical and social knowledge, which characterizes both ancient and contemporary games. The objective of the research is to demonstrate the possibility of implementing short history workshops in the context of the school curriculum, through playful learning that promotes greater pupil involvement. The research intervention was conducted in a fifth grade class of an elementary school of the Istituto Comprensivo di Montegrotto Terme (Padua). In the paper, the key principles of history teaching are examined, focusing on the history workshop. In addition, the contribution of play in the school teaching context is analyzed and, finally, the intervention implemented in the classroom is described. In conclusion, the investigation is analyzed through bibliographic and digital documentation.
L’elaborato presenta un'indagine sperimentale focalizzata sull’implementazione di un laboratorio di approfondimento di didattica della storia. Lo studio si concentra sul gioco da tavolo praticato nell’Antica Roma, noto come “Duodecim scripta”. Questo gioco, caratterizzato dalla sua semplicità, favorisce lo sviluppo delle conoscenze logiche e sociali degli alunni, che caratterizzano sia i giochi antichi, sia quelli contemporanei. L’obiettivo della ricerca è di dimostrare la possibilità di attuare dei laboratori di approfondimento storico di breve durata nel contesto del curricolo scolastico, attraverso un apprendimento ludico che promuove un maggior coinvolgimento degli alunni. L’intervento di ricerca è stato condotto in una classe quinta di una scuola primaria dell’Istituto Comprensivo di Montegrotto Terme, in provincia di Padova. Nell’elaborato, vengono esaminati i principi chiave della didattica della storia, focalizzandosi sul laboratorio storico. Si analizza, inoltre, il contributo del gioco nel contesto didattico scolastico e, infine, si descrive l’intervento realizzato in classe. In conclusione, l'indagine viene analizzata attraverso una documentazione di tipo bibliografico e digitale.
