But as long as we are talking about psychiatric patients with hospitalization in a ward or community, leaving aside serious situations or TSO, what supports this thesis is that the nurse cannot limit himself only to administering pharmacological therapy but also therapy that goes beyond drugs or empathy, listening, attention, dedicating time, support. As long as the therapy is effective, it should be ensured that in addition to pharmacological therapy, empathic treatment is also given to the patientProvide complete assistance from a psycho-physical point of view, so as to visibly benefit from the patient's behavior, from compliance and to have a greater possibility and probability of achieving the therapeutic objectives through a more harmonious and collaborative path without complications. Materials and methods: the research was carried out by consulting databases of medical, nursing and healthcare interest, Pubmed, Scopus, Google Scholar, psychiatric journals, psychiatric articles, psychiatric websites. Results of the research: analysis was carried out on the fundamental points, i.e. what empathy and mothering are, how to implement them, their importance, effectiveness, what they entail. Key words: psychiatric, empathy, maternage, empatia psychiatric patient, cura paziente psichiatrico.
