This thesis intends to demonstrate the effectiveness of psychoeducation aimed at patients suffering from schizophrenia and their families, with the aim of improving knowledge of the pathology, adherence to pharmacological therapy, the quality of life of the subjects involved, reducing stress, family burden and repercussions. The methods of possible intervention are exposed; the main difficulties and resistance of the services in working in synergy with families are also highlighted. The figure and role of the psychiatric rehabilitation technician in the planning and implementation of the individualized rehabilitation project is presented, making particular reference to family treatment. Finally, a proposal is put forward for a possible family psychoeducational intervention based on the Integrated Psychoeducational Intervention in Psychiatry by Ian Falloon et al. in order to help the family understand the disease, becoming a resource and not an obstacle in the patient's recovery journey.
La presente tesi intende dimostrare l’efficacia della psicoeducazione rivolta a pazienti affetti da schizofrenia e ai loro familiari, allo scopo di migliorare la conoscenza della patologia, l’aderenza alla terapia farmacologica, la qualità di vita dei soggetti coinvolti, ridurre lo stress, il carico familiare e le ricadute. Vengono esposte le modalità di possibile intervento; altresì vengono messe in evidenza le principali difficoltà e resistenze dei servizi nel lavorare in sinergia con le famiglie. Si presenta la figura e il ruolo del tecnico della riabilitazione psichiatrica nella pianificazione e attuazione del progetto riabilitativo individualizzato facendo riferimento in particolare al trattamento familiare. Infine, si avanza una proposta di possibile intervento psicoeducativo familiare basato sull'Intervento psicoeducativo integrato in psichiatria di Ian Falloon et al. al fine di aiutare la famiglia a comprendere la malattia diventando risorsa e non ostacolo nel percorso di recovery del paziente.
