Equine-assisted Therapy takes the form of a set of rehabilitative techniques to overcome difficulties of a sensory, cognitive and behavioral nature through playful-therapeutic activities, the focus of which is interaction with the horse. This rehabilitative approach has similar characteristics to those of traditional therapies, in that its technical and scientific foundations are based on principles common to neuromotor facilitation and psychomotor techniques. The aim of the paper is to analyze, through a review of the literature and clinical experience, the therapeutic benefits derived from Horse-Mediated Therapy as a rehabilitative intervention integrated with Neuropsychomotor Therapy. The purpose was pursued by developing the Questionnaire called “IppoQL,” aimed at collecting parents' perceptions of the changes in their children, involved in the T.M.C. project. In the present thesis project, the use of the Neuropsychomotor Observation and Evaluation Form (Berti, Comunello & Savini, 2001), adapted for hippotherapy setting, was also proposed in order to allow the detection of the child's developmental profile, within the equestrian rehabilitation context. This tool made possible a more accurate and focused analysis, within the therapeutic course of two selected clinical cases. From the use of the tools and the analysis of the clinical experience, the conceptualization of animal-mediated therapy emerged as a complementary and articulated tool that complements and completes the child's rehabilitation and placement pathway, configuring itself as an integrative therapeutic moment.

Abstract
From the use of the tools and the analysis of the clinical experience, the conceptualization of animal-mediated therapy emerged as a complementary and articulated tool that complements and completes the child's rehabilitation and placement pathway, configuring itself as an integrative therapeutic moment.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
