Backgroud: Value-based care has become the new paradigm for clinical practice, with significant implications for maternity services, where there is a great opportunity to provide better care at lower cost. Aim: This review aims to identify the key elements and outcomes of the implementation of value-based care (VBHC) in the maternal and child health care setting. Methods: The review process included studies published from 2014 to 2024 in 3 different databases (Medline/Pubmed, Scopus CINAHL, BMC Nursing) and other sources. Results: Of the 286 articles retrieved from the searches, 20 met the study's inclusion criteria. The standard set devised by ICHOM for the maternal and infant field was analysed and its implementation demonstrated its effectiveness in its entirety even if it needed some modifications. Practical examples in which the VBHC formula was implemented were analysed, Conclusion: The possible application of this model and the importance of obstetrical personnel assistance in its implementation has been demonstrated. It's essential to persevere in research and focus on the implementation of the model.

It's essential to persevere in research and focus on the implementation of the model.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
