The study focuses on the effectiveness of phosphate-loaded hybrid sol-gel coatings in protecting metals from corrosion, particularly aluminum alloy 6060. The methodology involves several phases: substrate preparation through polishing and cleaning, coating preparation via sol-gel synthesis and dip coating deposition, loading with corrosion inhibitors (phosphates), testing of corrosion resistance by exposure to a simulated corrosive environment (OCP, EIS, and PDP tests), and characterization through microscopic analysis using optical and scanning electron microscopes. Finally, the results will be analyzed in terms of graphic and micrographic representations, with numerical EIS data simulated using an equivalent electric circuit. Samples with a hybrid sol-gel coating, both with and without a corrosion inhibitor, will be compared with a bare metal sample. A detailed discussion will be provided throughout this thesis.

Abstract
A detailed discussion will be provided throughout this thesis.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
