Low back pain is a problem that affects millions of people around the world, it also seems that these numbers are continually increasing in proportion to the aging and increase of the global population. In most cases this pain cannot be traced back to a single cause, so it is difficult to indicate an effective solution for everyone. This paper aims to research the relationship that the most important inspiratory muscle, the diaphragm, has with low back pain and in particular to determine whether specific training to improve its functioning and involvement in breathing can provide benefits to subjects suffering from this problem. The research was based on a meticulous review of the scientific literature. The differences in the behavior and characteristics of the diaphragm were analyzed during the different phases of performing the various types of breathing between healthy subjects and subjects suffering from low back pain. Different types of training with and without resistance, with recruitment of the diaphragm muscle and their effects on individuals suffering from low back pain were then evaluated. The results of this bibliographic research allow us to satisfactorily define the qualities of postural stability of the diaphragm and the effectiveness that specific work on it can have on the treatment of low back pain.

Abstract
The results of this bibliographic research allow us to satisfactorily define the qualities of postural stability of the diaphragm and the effectiveness that specific work on it can have on the treatment of low back pain.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
