In a context in which traditional religion loses its value within society as a protagonist in the creation of social ties, it is sometimes possible to see how politics takes its place, becoming the centre of community and interpersonal ties. This thesis explores the concept of ‘religions of politics’ by analysing how religious dynamics and political ideologies intertwine and influence each other in the contemporary context, focusing mainly on the study of Chinese political history in the 1900s, investigating how Chinese society evolved following Mao tse-tung's dictatorship, how certain dynamics were addressed and how politics was considered in this specific place and historical period.
In un contesto in cui la religione tradizionale perde valore all’interno della società come protagonista della creazione dei legami sociali, alle volte è possibile vedere come la politica si fa largo e ne prende il posto, diventando il centro della comunità e dei legami interpersonali. Questa tesi esplora il concetto di “religioni della politica” analizzando come dinamiche religiose e ideologie politiche si intrecciano e si influenzano reciprocamente nel contesto contemporaneo, vertendo principalmente sullo studio della storia politica cinese del 1900, indagando come si è evoluta la società cinese in seguito alla dittatura di Mao tse-tung, come sono state affrontate determinate dinamiche e come è stata considerata la politica in questo preciso luogo e periodo storico.
