Patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) have a high risk of experiencing a recurrent event, the incidence of which can increase if the subjects are affected by anxiety and depression. Despite the increased risk reported by these psychological aspects in many scientific articles, their importance in the rehabilitation process remains underestimated, giving priority to physical treatment and putting these aspects in the background. The nurse, being a professional figure in close contact with the patient, is essential in order to recognize any psychological problems affecting the patient himself, ensuring the best possible assistance with the means at his disposal. The primary objective of this study is to investigate the incidence of the phenomenon of anxiety and depression in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), to observe the health changes that this incidence entails in order to evaluate whether the psychological aspect deserves a greater centrality in the therapeutic process. In order to respond to the proposed objective, it was decided to carry out a literature review using the Google search engine, the PubMed and Google Scholar databases and the non-profit organization Cochrane library in order to select, through an accurate search, the articles that would best allow a correct vision of the phenomenon investigated. The research reported a significantly increased incidence of anxiety and depression in patients affected by SCA compared to that of the unaffected population, also reporting a present but not entirely defined influence on mortality and health status of the population under research. Although anxiety and depression have a high incidence in the population affected by SCA, these psychological pathologies do not receive the correct attention within the therapeutic process, often being underestimated

Abstract
Patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) have a high risk of experiencing a recurrent event, the incidence of which can increase if the subjects are affected by anxiety and depression. Despite the increased risk reported by these psychological aspects in many scientific articles, their importance in the rehabilitation process remains underestimated, giving priority to physical treatment and putting these aspects in the background.
