Introduction: Pediatric fever is one of the main reasons for inappropriate access to emergency healthcare services. Symptoms of illness in children often trigger excessive anxiety in parents, leading them to overestimate the risk and severity of the situation. This condition is known as feverphobia, a term used to describe the excessive and irrational concern of parents, often fueled by a misperception of the danger associated with fever. Literature shows that adopting educational strategies aimed at parents reduces parental anxiety and promotes a more rational and informed approach to managing fever. Objective: To examine the effectiveness of simulation as an educational tool in managing pediatric fever, compared to traditional educational methods. Materials and Methods: The research was conducted between April and May 2024, exclusively consulting the PubMed database. The selected articles focused on nursing education projects aimed at parents of children aged 0 to 5 years. Results: The studies reviewed indicated that informational brochures, educational videos, websites, apps, and simulation sessions are effective methods for enhancing parental knowledge and skills in managing a febrile child. Particularly promising were simulated scenarios based on real clinical settings. Simulation allows for personalized educational interventions, addresses specific parental needs, and accommodates various levels of literacy. Conclusion: To ensure continued educational support upon returning home and to reinforce the skills acquired by parents, it is advisable to integrate an informational brochure alongside the simulation. This approach aims to significantly improve the efficiency of the healthcare system and reduce fever phobia. To implement this combined educational strategy, a wide availability of resources is required within public healthcare. For this reason, it would be appropriate to promote the inclusion of additional training interventions aimed at new parents. Furthermore, given the scarcity of scientific evidence on this topic, it is crucial to expand research and studies to further validate the reliability and effectiveness of this educational strategy.
