In this thesis, studies under development aimed at optimizing the diagnosis of cystic fibrosis are presented, with special reference to future prospects and innovative methods in the field of radiology. Initially, the paper provides an in-depth exploration of the disease, outlining its clinical-diagnostic profile. Next, the effectiveness of different imaging techniques, such as radiography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and ultrasound, is analyzed, illustrating their respective roles, the contributions they make to monitoring the disease, and their limitations in terms of radiation protection. This is followed by an exposition of some landmark clinical cases and the revolutionary proposition represented by recent technological and procedural developments, through a focus on innovations adopted by various centers and universities in Europe and the UK, along with their application benefits. Ultimately, the role of artificial intelligence systems and the ways in which they can contribute to improving the living conditions of cystic fibrosis patients is discussed.
