Gender violence is a topic that has been discussed a lot in recent years, especially because after the 2020 pandemic there was an increase in cases. Being a woman has always been difficult, since many rights were obtained after struggles that still have no end not only in Italy but also in the world. However, gender violence does not arise from nothing and is not a modern phenomenon, but has historical roots, which come back to societies before the advent of Christianity. It is a phenomenon that has roots for centuries and centuries, which has led to questions about how to contain it even today. This study analyzes the connection between discrimination and violence, examining not only the Italian context, but also the international one, starting from the societies of the past to arrive at understanding the contemporary world and everything that has been done to solve the problem of violence, at a national and international level.

It is a phenomenon that has roots for centuries and centuries, which has led to questions about how to contain it even today.
