La teologia della prosperità: L’American dream tramutato in religione

Prosperity Theology is a theological current that began to spread in Latin America in the 1980s, and then expanded throughout almost the entire globe, from the African continent to the People's Republic of China and South Korea. At the center of this current we find the conviction that God desires a prosperous life for his faithful, both from an economic and health point of view. As we will see in this essay, this belief at the basis of this theology is functional to the economic, political and philosophical concepts of a neoliberal model.

La Teologia della prosperità è una corrente teologica che ha iniziato a diffondersi in America Latina a partire dagli anni 80, per poi espandersi in quasi tutto il globo, dal continente africano fino alla Repubblica Popolare Cinese e la Corea del Sud. Al centro di questa corrente troviamo la convinzione che Dio desideri per i suoi fedeli una vita prosperosa, sia del punto si vista economico che salutare. Come andremo a vedere in questo elaborato, questa convinzione alla base di questa teologia è funzionale alle ai concetti economici, politici e filosofici di un modello neoliberista.
