UNO SGUARDO ALLE OLIMPIADI: ANALISI DELLE CARATTERISTICHE DEGLI ATLETI E IL LORO CONTRIBUTO ALLA PERFORMANCE

The following paper presents the Olympic evolution affecting a time span of more than a century and presents an analysis with regard to recent Editions in order to understand,for Marathon athletes,what might be the influencing factors in final performance. To do this,differences between medal and non-medal athletes are highlighted and statistical tools are applied in order to highlight the contribution of relevant variables and to explore possible relationships between them for the purpose of estimating the probability of Olympic success

Il seguente elaborato presenta l'evoluzione Olimpica interessando un arco temporale di oltre un secolo e presenta un analisi riguardo alle Edizioni recenti al fine di comprendere,per gli atleti della Maratona,quali possano essere i fattori di influenza nella performance finale. Per fare questo,vengono messe in luce le differenze tra atleti medagliati e non medagliati e vengono applicati strumenti statistici volti a mettere in luce il contributo delle variabili rilevanti e ad esplorarne eventuali relazioni al fine della stima della probabilità del successo olimpico
