In recent years, the agricultural sector has faced several critical challenges, including rising production costs, the increasing frequency of extreme weather events, and the instability caused by the volatility of agro-food crop prices. These factors create significant difficulties for agricultural companies, especially those with limited economic and physical size, often located in fragile and marginal geographic areas, which are frequently forced to cease operations. To address these issues, sector literature identifies income diversification as an effective strategy to mitigate risks arising from external factors and enhance farm productivity. In agriculture, diversification includes specific activities, known as “connected”, which can bring several benefits, such as increasing the added value of agricultural production, reducing the risk associated with high specialization, and providing services to the community. This thesis analyzes the main connected activities in the Veneto Region based on data from the seventh general census conducted by the National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT) in 2020. First, the importance of farm diversification will be highlighted, along with a reconstruction of the historical development that has promoted the role of connected activities among various agricultural entities. Subsequently, a statistical ANOVA analysis will be presented to identify any significant differences in the distribution of these activities across the different types of municipal territories of Veneto. Finally, an attempt will be made to forecast the future evolution of the connected activities under study.

Abstract
Finally, an attempt will be made to forecast the future evolution of the connected activities under study.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
