This thesis explores the correlation between career calling and life meaning through a systematic review of 20 quantitative studies. The findings consistently show a positive relationship, indicating that individuals who view their work as a calling tend to experience greater meaning in life. Correlation coefficients range from .28 to .78, with an average of r = .56. The methodology involved a comprehensive literature search and screening process. Key studies, including Duffy et al. (2016) and Allan et al. (2015), support the significant role of career calling in enhancing life satisfaction and well-being. The research considers alternative explanations, such as cultural differences and psychological factors, with studies like Douglass, Duffy, and Autin (2016) demonstrating cross-cultural relevance. The thesis suggests that fostering a sense of calling in employees can improve job satisfaction, engagement, and overall quality of life. Future research should focus on establishing causality, exploring cultural variations, and developing interventions.

Abstract
Future research should focus on establishing causality, exploring cultural variations, and developing interventions.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
