The paper aims to analyze the film genre of science fiction and then focus, through two case studies, on its ability to blend with other film genres. It will look at the trilogy "Back To The Future," by Robert Zemeckis, to analyze the hybridization of science fiction and comedy through the narrative element of time travel. Finally, reference will be made to "Nope," a film by African American director Jordan Peele, which at its core combines science fiction and westerns, to analyze a horror-tinged narrative with references to the contemporary world.

Abstract
The paper aims to analyze the film genre of science fiction and then focus, through two case studies, on its ability to blend with other film genres. It will look at the trilogy "Back To The Future," by Robert Zemeckis, to analyze the hybridization of science fiction and comedy through the narrative element of time travel. Finally, reference will be made to "Nope," a film by African American director Jordan Peele, which at its core combines science fiction and westerns, to analyze a horror-tinged narrative with references to the contemporary world.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
