The first chapter will discuss themes such as guilt and the exchange of guilt, duality and the double, voyeurism, and suspense, which are key features of his cinema. The second chapter will trace his career, with particular attention to his early phase in England and his subsequent move to the United States, where he achieved his greatest international success. The final chapter will offer an analysis of his 1956 film The Man Who Knew Too Much, highlighting its stylistic and narrative aspects. The thesis aims to demonstrate the significant influence Hitchcock has had on modern cinema, both from a thematic and technical perspective.
La presente tesi analizza l'opera di Alfred Hitchcock, soffermandosi su alcuni degli elementi principali che hanno caratterizzato i suoi film. Nel primo capitolo si parlerà di temi come la colpa e lo scambio di colpa, il doppio e la dualità, il voyeurismo e la suspense, caratteristiche chiave del suo cinema. Il secondo capitolo ripercorrerà la sua carriera, con particolare attenzione alla sua prima fase in Inghilterra e al successivo trasferimento negli Stati Uniti, dove ottenne il suo maggior successo internazionale. Il capitolo finale offrirà un'analisi del suo film L'uomo che sapeva troppo del 1956, mettendo in evidenza gli aspetti stilistici e narrativi. La tesi mira a dimostrare l'importante influenza che Hitchcock ha avuto sul cinema moderno, sia dal punto di vista tematico che tecnico.
