Liminal (2024): Pierre Huyghe a Punta della Dogana

This paper examines the life and works of Pierre Huyghe, an internationally acclaimed French artist working from the mid-1980s to the present, and then focuses in particular on the study of his most recent exhibition, Pierre Huyghe. Liminal, organised in the large spaces of Punta della Dogana in Venice and running from 17 March until 24 November 2024. Finally, some of the works in the exhibition are analyzed, examining both new creations created by Huyghe for the occasion and historical works by the artist that, influenced by the context in which they are presented, are enriched with new meaning.

Questo elaborato prende in esame la vita e le opere di Pierre Huyghe, artista francese di fama internazionale attivo dalla metà degli anni Ottanta fino ad oggi, per poi soffermarsi in particolare sullo studio della sua ultima mostra, Pierre Huyghe. Liminal, organizzata negli ampi spazi di Punta della Dogana a Venezia e in corso dal 17 marzo fino al 24 novembre 2024. Sono infine analizzate alcune delle opere presenti nell’esposizione, esaminando sia le nuove creazioni realizzate da Huyghe per l’occasione, sia lavori storici dell’artista che, influenzati dal contesto in cui sono presentati, si arricchiscono di nuovo significato.
