The thesis focuses on some aspects of Japanese aesthetics, examining its Buddhist origins and in particular the concept of wabi-sabi with some examples of artistic practices that embody its values, such as imperfection and impermanence, such as the art of ikebana and the technique of raku pottery developed over the centuries.
L’elaborato si concentra su alcuni aspetti dell’estetica giapponese, esaminandone le sue origini buddiste e in particolare il concetto di wabi-sabi con alcuni esempi di pratiche artistiche che incarnano i suoi valori, quali l’imperfezione e la transitorietà, come l’arte dell’ikebana e la tecnica delle ceramiche raku sviluppata nei secoli.
