This thesis compares the mythological animals of Norse mythology with those of Indo-European cultures, highlighting similarities and differences. The first chapter explores Norse religion and cosmology up to Ragnarök, while the second analyses the Norse gods and mythological animals. The third chapter examines Indo-European mythologies, tracing mutual influences. The research shows how figures such as the wolf, serpent, and horse take on similar roles, reflecting common beliefs and cultural differences.
Questa tesi confronta gli animali mitologici della mitologia norrena e delle culture indoeuropee, evidenziando somiglianze e differenze. Il primo capitolo esplora la religione norrena e la cosmogonia fino al Ragnarök, mentre il secondo analizza gli dèi e gli animali mitologici norreni. Il terzo capitolo esamina le mitologie indoeuropee, tracciando influenze reciproche. La ricerca mostra come figure come lupo, serpente e cavallo assumano ruoli simili, riflettendo credenze comuni e differenze culturali.
