This dissertation explores the phenomenon of informal contact during English language learning, with a particular focus on international students. Using a qualitative methodology, the study explores L2 interactions that occur outside a formal context and contribute to language learning. As part of the project, a questionnaire was created for international students to analyse how and to what extent informal contact influenced their second language learning. The results showed that informal learning contexts can significantly improve language acquisition. Analysis of the data collected highlights the importance of using extramural input for the improvement of vocabulary, listening and speaking skills. Therefore, this study aims to provide information on the role of exposure to informal learning in the development of English language skills.
