Schiavitù e democrazia. L’apporto del fenomeno schiavile alla politica dell’Atene classica

Considering the history and development of slavery as a form of relation, I'll show how this institution was a huge support for the political activities in Athens, regarding not only the contribution to economics but also the impact of slavery onto the expression of the political organization. I'll try to show that politics is grounded into the distintion between the ones that are free and the slaves: freedom means the attribution of citizenship and as a resault of it, also the recognition of political rights to whom are free.

Posta l’evoluzione storica della schiavitù come relazione, si cercherà di mostrare in che modo essa sia stata di supporto allo sviluppo della pratica politica in Atene, guardando non solo l’apporto economico che ha avuto il lavoro per terzi nello sviluppo della società, ma anche l’impatto che esso ha avuto sulle modalità di espressione dell’organizzazione politica. Si cercherà di mettere in luce il fatto che la politica si fondi sulla distinzione tra libero e schiavo che determina l’attribuzione dei diritti di cittadinanza e, dunque, politici.
