This scoping review explores beekeeping as a therapeutic tool, with a particular focus on its benefits for psychological and social well-being. Given the limited evidence available on this topic, a mapping approach was chosen to synthesize current knowledge and identify gaps in the literature. Empirical qualitative and quantitative studies analyzing the well-being derived from interaction with bees and beekeeping activities were included, applying exclusion criteria to limit the analysis to studies focused on human well-being outcomes. The limitations identified in the literature highlight the need for further research with standardized methodologies and a stronger focus on the long-term effects of beekeeping to consolidate knowledge on the subject and define specific therapeutic protocols.

Abstract
This scoping review explores beekeeping as a therapeutic tool, with a particular focus on its benefits for psychological and social well-being. Given the limited evidence available on this topic, a mapping approach was chosen to synthesize current knowledge and identify gaps in the literature. Empirical qualitative and quantitative studies analyzing the well-being derived from interaction with bees and beekeeping activities were included, applying exclusion criteria to limit the analysis to studies focused on human well-being outcomes. The limitations identified in the literature highlight the need for further research with standardized methodologies and a stronger focus on the long-term effects of beekeeping to consolidate knowledge on the subject and define specific therapeutic protocols.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
