The thesis will discuss the ketogenic diet, a nutritional regimen characterized by a very low carbohydrate intake and a high percentage of fats, designed to induce a state of ketosis, in which the body uses fats as the main source of energy. The ketogenic diet is particularly useful for women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), an endocrine disorder that causes hormonal imbalances, insulin resistance, and difficulty in weight management. The thesis will therefore address the benefits that this diet offers for those suffering from polycystic ovary syndrome.

Abstract
The thesis will discuss the ketogenic diet, a nutritional regimen characterized by a very low carbohydrate intake and a high percentage of fats, designed to induce a state of ketosis, in which the body uses fats as the main source of energy. The ketogenic diet is particularly useful for women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), an endocrine disorder that causes hormonal imbalances, insulin resistance, and difficulty in weight management. The thesis will therefore address the benefits that this diet offers for those suffering from polycystic ovary syndrome.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
