The paper aims to explore the phenomenon of workaholism, defining it and analysing its antecedents and consequences, both individual and organisational, on the basis of existing literature. A first section provides a definition of the construct, focusing on its measurement and the main dynamics that fuel it. The paper then delves into smart working, examining regulations, psychosocial risks and the positive and negative aspects associated with this working modality, also focusing on the possible link between workaholism and smart working. Finally, workaholism prevention interventions are proposed, with a focus on the importance of organisational policies and training interventions aimed at promoting organisational wellbeing, including in remote work.

Abstract
The paper aims to explore the phenomenon of workaholism, defining it and analysing its antecedents and consequences, both individual and organisational, on the basis of existing literature. A first section provides a definition of the construct, focusing on its measurement and the main dynamics that fuel it. The paper then delves into smart working, examining regulations, psychosocial risks and the positive and negative aspects associated with this working modality, also focusing on the possible link between workaholism and smart working. Finally, workaholism prevention interventions are proposed, with a focus on the importance of organisational policies and training interventions aimed at promoting organisational wellbeing, including in remote work.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
