The thesis aims to analyze how the primary socialization received by the family is reflected on expectations, beliefs and projections regarding parenting and the transition process of daughters. Following a literature review, the current scientific landscape on the issues of parenting as a product of cultural influences will be illustrated, the different types of parents and the various elements which can distinguish one parental model from another. Following this, a series of semi-structured interviews with women between 26 and 31 years (not yet mothers but in a stable relationship) will allow the analysis to go deeper, in order to confirm the evidence on the field (first explored only theoretically through literature review) about representations, expectations of motherhood and possible behaviors that young women would have once the transition to parenthood is complete, taking into account the historical, cultural and social framework of today.

Abstract
The thesis aims to analyze how the primary socialization received by the family is reflected on expectations, beliefs and projections regarding parenting and the transition process of daughters. Following a literature review, the current scientific landscape on the issues of parenting as a product of cultural influences will be illustrated, the different types of parents and the various elements which can distinguish one parental model from another. Following this, a series of semi-structured interviews with women between 26 and 31 years (not yet mothers but in a stable relationship) will allow the analysis to go deeper, in order to confirm the evidence on the field (first explored only theoretically through literature review) about representations, expectations of motherhood and possible behaviors that young women would have once the transition to parenthood is complete, taking into account the historical, cultural and social framework of today.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
