This thesis analyzes the role of Instagram in shaping political engagement during Colombia’s 2022 presidential election, focusing on the campaign of Gustavo Petro. This study investigates how Petro strategically used Instagram to portray his political identity, connect with voters, and convey key messages directed to youth to motivate digital activism. Furthermore, analyzes the content strategies Petro employed, focusing on how his content like stories, reels, and live videos were tailored to resonate with younger audiences therefore getting their support to win the elections.
