The following thesis aims to investigate the management of immobilization devices in the territory of ULSS 2 by nursing staff with reference to knowledge on the application of the guidelines and related literature. The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the quality and effectiveness of the management of immobilization devices associated with adequate or improper knowledge of the relevant guidelines and literature. The investigation was conducted by first carrying out a brief literature search on databases such as PubMed and on the relevant guidelines; textbooks such as Chiaranda M. (2008) were consulted, subsequently two questionnaires were administered respectively to the emergency rooms and 118 bases of the ULSS 2 territory. From research in the literature and according to the PHTLS guidelines, it is clear that the use of immobilization devices according to the traditional methodology is now outdated and is no longer so effective, as it causes potential pressure injuries and can lead to complications and patient discomfort (discomfort, pain, chest compression...). It will therefore be necessary to remodulate the concepts and practice based on traditional methodology so that we can improve at a training level and consequently in healthcare practice.
