Background: Nursing education and support play a crucial role in the health management of patients with liver cirrhosis, a complex condition that involves significant physical, psychological and social challenges. The quality of life (HRQoL) of these patients is frequently compromised due to the complications of the disease and therapeutic needs. It is therefore important to provide these patients with adequate nursing support so that they can improve the management of the disease but also promote overall well-being by facilitating adherence to therapies and strengthening the ability to face daily challenges related to the disease. Materials and methods: Following an initial research on how the nurse intervenes in the management of the patient with cirrhosis, the review proposes to clarify the approaches that scientific literature currently considers most effective and the future prospects for the development of interventions to improve the quality of life of patients, including considering the nurse as an important figure in the multidisciplinary team so as to be able to decide the most appropriate care for one patient compared to another. Results: Among the 11 articles taken into consideration there are 2 articles from clinical journals, hepatology, 1 qualitative study, 2 systematic reviews, 1 guideline, 5 articles randomized controlled trials. The analysis of the articles shows the importance for the nurse to implement a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary perspective with personalized interventions. All this is useful to increase therapeutic adherence, improve the quality of life of the sick patient. Conclusion: From the results obtained it is clear that currently a targeted education and continuous support by the nursing staff can lead to significant improvements in the quality of life with positive effects also on compliance with therapies and on the development of effective health behaviors. Adequate nursing care contributes to a more effective management of the disease by reducing the risk of complications that would lead to new hospitalizations. The review indicates the need for personalized educational interventions and multidisciplinary approaches to address the complex needs of patients with liver cirrhosis. Keywords: liver cirrhosis, nursing education, quality of life , life style.
