This paper analyzes the impact of corporate physical and psychological wellness programs (Workplace Health Promotion, WHP) on key company economic indicators, focusing in particular on employee productivity, absenteeism, and corporate culture. WHP programs are often regarded as a supplementary benefit rather than a strategic necessity in human resource management. However, evidence from statistical analyses and developments in managerial theories highlight a different reality: investing in human capital is at least as important as investing in material resources.
Questo lavoro analizza l’impatto dei programmi aziendali di benessere fisico e psicologico (Workplace Health Promotion, WHP) su alcuni importanti indicatori economici aziendali, concentrandosi in particolare sulla produttività dei dipendenti, sull’assenteismo e sulla cultura aziendale. I programmi WHP sono spesso considerati un beneficio accessorio, anziché una necessità strategica nell’ambito della gestione delle risorse umane. Tuttavia, le evidenze derivanti da analisi statistiche e gli sviluppi delle teorie manageriali mettono in luce una realtà ben diversa: l’investimento nel capitale umano è almeno altrettanto importante quanto quello nelle risorse materiali.
