The Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement, which emerged in 2013 in response to the acquittal of George Zimmerman for the killing of African American teenager Trayvon Martin, has become one of the most influential social movements of the 21st century. Through a literature review, key studies on the Black Lives Matter movement in the U.S. are analyzed. Following that, an empirical analysis is conducted using a purpose-built database and regression models to explore the relationship between socioeconomic variables and protest intensity.
Il movimento Black Lives Matter (BLM), nato nel 2013 in risposta all'assoluzione di George Zimmerman per l'uccisione dell'adolescente afroamericano Trayvon Martin, è diventato uno dei movimenti sociali più influenti del XXI secolo. Attraverso una revisione della letteratura, vengono analizzati i principali studi sul movimento Black Lives Matter negli Stati Uniti, successivamente, viene condotta un'analisi empirica basata su un database creato ad hoc, utilizzando modelli di regressione per studiare la relazione tra variabili socioeconomiche e l'intensità delle proteste.

Abstract
