"Journeys to Democratization: Approaches to the analysis of Latin America's Democratic Transitions in the Twentieth Century"

Analysis of determining factors in regime transition processes of Latin American countries during the Twentieth century. After the adoption of a theoretical framework that establishes the necessary boundaries in the definition of both political regimes and processes of transition and consolidation, the subsequent compilatory work concerns the study of different political-economic theories and models, in the attempt of identifying the most influential forces and causes in the considered trajectories of democratization. The last chapters are dedicated to a structured case study, with the analysis taking an intensive and specific shape, utilizing within-country variables .

Analisi dei fattori determinanti per le transizioni politiche in America Latina nel ventesimo secolo. Adottando alcuni riferimenti teoretici concernenti la natura dei regimi politici ed i processi di transizione e consolidamento ad essi legati, il lavoro compilativo seguente riguarda l'indagine di differenti teorie e modelli economico-politici, nel tentativo di identificare le forze maggiormente influenti nelle traiettorie di evoluzione democratica degli stati appartenenti all'area geografica presa in considerazione. In conclusione, viene proposto un case study nel quale l'analisi prende una conformazione intensiva e specifica, mediante l'utilizzo di variabili within-country.
