Ana Mendieta: il corpo, il sangue e la terra

The study analyzes the work of Cuban-American artist Ana Mendieta, placed in the historical American art context from the 1960s to the 1980s. The purpose of the paper is the analysis of the main symbologies the artist uses in the process of the artistic creation, the use she makes of her body, the meaning she gives to blood, a symbol of death but above all of life, and finally the analysis of the dialogue her body establishes with earth.

Lo studio analizza il lavoro dell'artista cubano-americana Ana Mendieta, inserita nel contesto storico-artistico americano, dagli anni Sessanta agli anni Ottanta. Lo scopo dell'elaborato è l'analisi delle principali simbologie che utilizza l'artista nel processo di creazione artistica, l'utilizzo che fa del suo corpo, il significato che dà al sangue, simbolo di morte ma soprattutto di vita e infine l'analisi del dialogo che il suo corpo instaura con la terra.
